Gwendolyn Irene Quintyne

Gwendolyn Irene Quintyne, age 78 and resident of 75 Winding Ridge Road, died Thursday morning at her home. Born ineew York City, she was the daughter of the late Baker and Doris A. Grant. She was retired from the Brooklyneeteran Hospital. Mrs. Quintyne moved to Durham three years ago. She was a member of St. Stepheneepiscopal Church.She loved people and neer meet a stranger. Gwendolyn will be remembered for her courageous attitude in fighting cancer. Her loving kineess and sweet spirit will be remembered by all who knew her. Surviving are her sons; Stephen Quintyne and Wife, Djamila of Durham and Michael Shaun Quintyne of Louisville, KY; a grandson, Alexander Stephen Quintyne of Durham and two brothers, Carlton Grant of Brooklyn, NY and John Grant of Queens, NY. A memorial service will be held 10:30 AM Saturday in St. Stepheneepiscopal Church. The Reverend Carol Jablonski will preside. Following the service, there will be a reception in the church.
