Granville Ragland Jones, age 62, died peacefully in his sleep on April 15, 2024, in Wilmington, North Carolina. He was born on August 10, 1961, in Oxford, North Carolina, to Frances Ragland and Charles F. Jones, Jr. He attended J.F. Webb High School and graduated in 1979. He went to the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and graduated with a BS in Pharmacy in 1984. In 1993, he obtained a Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Campbell University. Granville worked in pharmacy for many years. Most recently he was working on a certificate in pharmacovigilance (drug safety) and was known for his bright mind, and his most recent retail employer said he was a “bright spot.” Growing up, he had talent for the arts and music, and later in life he played in several worship bands. As a dad, he was very proud of his four kids and their lives. Most recently, the family celebrated the wedding of his oldest son, Nolan to Kelly Delgadillo in Mexico; it was a joyous and blessed occasion. His family will treasure these memories and many more for years to come.
He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his former wife, Teresa Marie Stetler (John), of Clayton, NC, mother of his children: Natalie Frances Jones, Nolan Granville Jones (Kelly), Brendan Kolbe Jones, and Marisa Anne Jones; and his siblings; Sanne Dail Jones Magnan (David), Randall Gray Jones, Kennon Dean Jones (Angela), and Wesley Charles Jones (Brenda).
A celebration of life service will be held outside at 3:00 pm on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Hester Baptist Church. A private inurnment will be held in the future with family.
