Mrs. Grace Daniels Guyer passed away at her home on May 7, 2016. Mrs. Guyer was born oneebruary 8, 1928, in Apex, NC, youngest of nee children of the late David Chesley and Iola Thomasson Daniels. She was married July 26, 1947 to William Boyd Guyer, who preceded her ineeath in 1991. Mrs. Guyer attended Apex Elementary School, graduated from Green Hope High School in Wake County and Kennedy???s Commercial School in Durham. She was a member of Duke Memorial Uneed Methodist church where she and her husband, Bill, taught in the Sunday School nursery for many years. Grace also a former member of the Tobaccoland Civitan Club. She was employed at Peabody Drug Co. (later W.H. King Drug) for 25 years, retiring from Duke Uneersity History Dept. in 1994 after 17 years. She is survived by one daughter, Deborah G. Broadwell; one grandson, Daniel Boyd Broadwell and wife Amber; great-grandson, William Boyd Broadwell of Durham and nieces and nephews, including Jimmie Edwards and Faye of Morrisville, NC; David Daniels and Jean of Richmond, VA; Greg Moody of Florida and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded ineeath by sisters Wilma Moody, Elizabeth Edwards, Josephine Wineey and brothers Maynard, Julian, Paul and James Daniels. The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 10, 2016 from 6:00PM ??? 8:00PM at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service in Durham. Pallbearers will be nephew, Jimmie Edwards; great nephews, Michael Edwards, Rickey Edwards, Gary Edwards, Steven Edwards and Chesley Edwards. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at 11:00AM in the Hall-Wynne Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in Maplewood Cemetery. Rev. Heather Rodrigues will officiate. The family is grateful for the devoted care she received from Mary Beth McGranaghan with Doctors Making House Calls; Elizabeth, Lisa and Renee with Genteva Home Care; Beth from Duke Hospice and Sherrie Clark who cared for her over the past year.
