Gloria Mitchell Mazzia

Gloria Mitchell Mazzia passed away unexpectedly at Duke Hospital oneeptember 18, 2008 in Durham, N.C. A native New Yorker, Gloria relocated to Durham this May to be closer to family. After raising a family, she earned her second Masters degree from New York Uneersity School of Social Work aneenjoyed maneenriching years of service as supervisor of outpatient Social Work at St. Vincent's Hospital in Harrison, N.Y. Gloria is survived by her daughter Lisa, a physician based in Ann Arbor, Michigan; and her two sons: Don, owner during the 13 year run of the former Park Diner in RTP and of Trianee Baking Co. prior to that; and Chris, an attorney in Santa Rosa, California. Her three granddaughters were always treasures to her: Stephanie, Alessandra, and Victoria Mazzia. Her survivors include ten nieces and nephews. Her family and friends can smile with love and affectioneemembering her for her warmth, generosity, quick wit and good humor. Gloria was steadfast ineer support of Planned Parenthood, the one and only charity she consistently mentioned as deserving of funds. Please contribute accordingly. No services are planned.
