Gerald Emery Searls

Gerald Emery Searls, 72, of Durham, NC and Clarksville, VA, died Thursday, May 14th surrounded by his family. Borneeptember 22, 1942 to the late William Cravoneearls and Mable Greeneearls. He was a member of Cedar Forks Baptist Church in Durham. Gerald retired in 2002 after spending his entire career in the construction business. He was an avid fisherman, gardener and hunter. Gerald was a loving companion father, grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed. Surviving are: his companion, of 18 years, Shelby Perry of Clarksville, VA; a daughter, Wendy Searls of Durham; a son, Gerald ???Jerry??? Searls Jr. of Durham; a grandson, Alex Searls; two step daughters, Tammy Neese and husband,?? Jeff of Mebane, Patricia Bunn and husband, David of Timberlake; a brother, Doneearls of Creedmoor; two sisters, Janette Christy and husband, Chris of Durham, Marie Young and husband, Donald of Gretna, VA; four step grandchildren. A special thanks to a great friend and nurse, Audrey O???Briant. The family will be present 1-2 p.m. Tuesday at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, 1113 West Main St., Durham. Memorial Services will follow in The Chapel of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, where Rev.
