NORTH MYRTLE BEACH – Georgia Fields Tilley, age 97, died on December 10, 2020. She was born on June 29, 1923 in Durham, NC to John Fields and Elizabeth Harmon Fields.
Georgia met and married Wayland Harris Tilley in 1939. She was a longtime member of Angier Avenue Baptist Church and retired from AT&T. She has lived in North Myrtle Beach for the last two and a half years.
Georgia is survived by her three children, Linda Holt, Eddie Tilley and wife Nancy, Beth Jones and husband Larry; six grandchildren, Brian Holt and wife Jen, Shannon Tilley, Jason Jones, Matthew Tilley, Justin Jones and wife Kim, Jennifer Schuster and husband Jeff; great grandchildren Storm Jones, Jacob Schuster, Logan Jones, Jessica Schuster, Jordan Schuster, Wayland Jones, Tristan Holt, Zach Holt and many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Wayland Tilley.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 14, 2020 at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service in Durham. Burial will follow the service at Maplewood Cemetery in Durham. The family will greet friends from 10-10:45 prior to the service.
