George Leon Cooper

George Leon Cooper, 60, of Russells Chapel Road, Pittsboro, died unexpectedly July 10, 2010 in Surf City. The son of Lloyd Edward Cooper and Frances Catherine Crabtree Cooper, George was born January 18, 1950 in Durham County. He was an owner/maneer of Cooper Brothers Citgo in Pittsboro, and a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Donna C. and Jay Hilliard of Pittsboro; a son, Forrest Cooper of Pittsboro; two grandchildren, Jacob and Ryan Hilliard; his parents, Lloyd and Frances Cooper of Pittsboro; his grandmother, Flossie Smith of Pittsboro; two brothers, Danny Cooper of Pittsboro, Edward Cooper of Kinston; and an unee, William E. Smith of Pittsboro. The service to celebrate the life of George Cooper will be held at 3:30 pm Wednesday, July 14, 2010 from Rock Springs Baptist Church, with Pastor Jerry Sanders and Pastor Tommy Faust presiding. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday evening from 6 8 pm at Hall - Wynne Funeral Home in Pittsboro.
