Gary Allan Doby

Gary Allan Doby, 54, of Durham died Sunday, September 9, 2012 at Durham Regional Hospital. He was born in Durham, on March 12, 1958, the son of Billy Carson Doby and the late Bobbe Isenhour. When Gary was a young boy, he began traveling with the Piedmont Travelers Band. The band called him Drummer Boy. He was musically talented on various instruments and had a true love for music. Gary is survived by his father, Billy Doby of Durham; his aunt, Inez Rackley of Durham; and his daughter, Ashley Brooks, of Raleigh. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, Sept. 16, at Northgate Chapel 3207 Duke Homestead Road, Durham NC. Officiating will be Robert Adcock.
