Francis Franeedward Baker, 57, died on May 21, 2007 surrounded by the loving arms of his family. Mr. Baker was born in Elizabeth City, North Carolina to Marguerite Hanson and Francis Baker.
Mr. Baker was a veteran of the US Navy having served on the USS America receiving the award of sailor of the month during his tour of duty in Viet Nam. Frank worked for National Health Laboratory, Stokes Reynolds Memorial Hospital, and Wake Forest Uneersity Baptist Medical Center in laboratory services. His career continued ineesearch at Duke Uneersity and then ineedical and pharmaceutical sales. He was a graduate of North Carolina Central Uneersity.
Frank loved family, friends, and music. His keen wit and humor reflected his personality and love of life. Frank was a friend to all, having compassion for others and their needs. He always enjoyed a gathering of family and friends.
His father, mother, brothers; Richard and Neil; and a very special brother-in-law, Mark Campbell preceded him.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Dr. Peggy C. Baker; caring and devoted daughter, Laura Elizabeth; sister, Teresa Bennett aneellis Bright of Elizabeth City, NC; sister, Peggy Baker and Mamdouh Darweeh of Milwaukee, WI; brother, Mark Baker of Elizabeth City, NC; and sister, Lisa Eisenhuth and Dennis Eisenhuth of East Liverpool. OH.
A memorial service will be held at Trinity Uneed Methodist Church on Saturday May 26, 2007 at 4:00 p.m., with a time of visitation from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Rev. Duke Lackey and Rev. Susan White will preside. Inurnment will be at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Trinity Uneed Methodist Church, Watts School of Nursing, and Duke Home Care and Hospice.
