Frances Myrick Howard, 92, passed away in Durham on January 31, 2006 after three months of ill health. She was born in Durham in 1913, the third daughter of Charles and Hallie Currin Myrick. Frances was a resident of the Lakewood neighborhood for most of her life. In 1939, she married J. Cecil Howard, who predeceased her in 1976. She was a life-long member of Lakewood Baptist Church, where she served in neerous capacities. She is survived by two sons, Charles and his wife, Cindy, of Waxhaw; and, Myrick and his partner, Brineey Sugg, of Raleigh; and two granddaughters, Erin Cook of Waxhaw aneemily Howard of Blacksburg, VA. A graveside service will be held at 1 PM Friday, February 3 in Maplewood Cemetery, Section 15 with the Rev. Ed Denton officiating. The family will welcome friends at the Fellowship Hall of Lakewood Baptist Church on 2100 Chapel Hill Road following the service.
