Frances Ellis Chaneer

Frances Ellis Chaneer, 88, resident of Stallings Road died Sunday at her home. Mrs. Chaneer was born in Durham County and was the daughter of the late Henry Davis Ellis aneelizabeth Mae Ellis. After graduating from Durham High School, she attended a local business school. In 1940, she married Madison W. Chaneer. They operated a farm for many years until Matt's death in 2005. Frances was employed for many years with the Farmer's Exchange, Central Carolina Farmers and she retired from Southern States where she was a senior account clerk. For many years she was a member of the Oak Grove Ruritan Club. She was a member of Olive Branch Baptist Church. Surviving are several nieces and nephews: Flint Foushee, Harry Lemmond, Rick Chaneer, David Bell, Steve Chaneer, Margaret Thorne, Rev. Robert Weatherly, Robbie Chaneer, Mary Anne Hall and Bill Weatherly, Jr.; several great nieces and nephews and two God Children, Chris and Tracie Thorne Pallbearers will be Walter Davis, Chuck Thorne, Harry Lemmond, Chris Thorne, George Pearce, Jimmy Hatley and Mickey Stephenson. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at Hall-Wynne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, August 26, 2009, at the Olive Branch Baptist Church. The Rev. Tim Wheeler will preside. Burial will be in Fletcher's Chapel Uneed Methodist Church Cemetery.
