Frances Arnold Carroll

Frances Arnold Carroll, 88, died Thursday in Croasdaile Pavilion. A Durham native, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Frances Wright Arnold. She attended Durham County schools and spent 33 years working with Liggett-Myers Tobacco Co. Mrs. Carroll was a long-time member of McMannen Uneed Methodist Church. Frances, ineer younger years, enjoyed square dancing. She also enjoyed the beach, and she loved people, giving generously of herself to others. Surviving are her sister, Edith A. Johnson of Durham; a niece, Mary Carol Johnson of Durham; a nephew, Albert R. Johnson, Jr. of Greensboro; a great nephew, Andy Johnson of Wake Forest and great niece, Dr. Edie Johnson of Indianapolis. She was predeceased by her husband, John Carroll, her son, Billy, and a sister, Mary Richardson. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday from the Chapel of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, with the Rev
