Floyd Herman Dziedzic

Floyd Herman Dziedzic, 91, passed away on December 23, 2023 in Cary, North Carolina. He was born September 30, 1932 in Robertson County near Bremond, Texas to Antone and Pauline Dziedzic. Floyd was a long-time member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg, Texas and recent member of St. Matthew Catholic Church in Durham, North Carolina.

Survivors include his daughter, Cheryl Murphy and her husband, Timothy, and two granddaughters, Claire and Danica of Durham, North Carolina and his siblings Frank of Houston, TX, Connie Gready and her husband Bob of Houston TX, Raymond and his wife Rosa of Bremond, TX, Cleo and his wife Susie of Spring, TX, Chris and his wife Danna of Houston, TX, and his sister-in-law Kay Dziedzic of Mart, TX as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Agnes and his parents and his brother, Leonard.

Floyd grew up on a farm in Bremond. He attended St. Mary’s Parochial School and Bremond High School. He enlisted in the US Air Force in 1951 and was honorably discharged from inactive reserves in 1959. Floyd then moved to Houston and worked at a few companies before joining Dresser Industries/Western Atlas in the Facilities and Maintenance department for 39 years until his retirement in 1998.

Floyd was an active member of Holy Rosary Parish and volunteered for many years at the Church and School with various maintenance projects. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus for 63 years. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, listening and dancing to polka music and spending time with his family. He was always willing to help a family member or friend in need.

For the last nine years, he was able to spend quality time with his granddaughters enjoying their various school activities, sport events, and Sunday dinners, but he always missed his family, good friends and neighbors in Texas.

A Memorial Mass at Holy Rosary Catholic Church and internment services at Greenlawn Memorial Park both in Rosenberg, Texas are being scheduled.
