Floris Ann Hladik, 80, of Rougemont N.C., passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2020. Born in the South Amboy N.J., on December 4, 1940 she was the daughter of Theodore Conneway and Floris Richardson.
Floris Ann lived in Johnstown N.Y. before moving to Rougemont NC. Floris Ann graduated from Johnstown High School, Class of 1959. Following graduation she went to work for GTE in Johnstown N.Y. where she mainly worked in the payroll department and retired with the company after 37 plus years of service. While working with GTE she obtained her accounting degree at FMCC. After retiring from GTE she worked in payroll departments with Qualex and Quintiles.
On April 8, 1961 she was united in marriage to Francis D. Hladik, her highschool sweetheart. Together for 59 years they enjoyed golfing and vacationing in Maine. Floris Ann also enjoyed gardening, skiing, traveling, water aerobics, going to the beach and playing cards with her three best friends Pat, Barbara and Peggy. Floris Ann also enjoyed cooking and baking. Floris Ann would bake for the homeless for the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church which she attended.
Survivors included her husband Francis; one daughter Lynne Hladik (Charles McCormick) and one son Daniel Hladik and his wife Billie June; four grandchildren Justin Griffith and his wife Hannah, Jessica Dufek and her husband Mike, Aimee Hladik and fiance Justin Niles, and Shevonn Hinshaw and her husband Robert; 6 great grandchildren, Kayden, Khloe, Hunter, Brayden, Kinley and Elijah. Her sister Pat Mosher and her husband Al and their 2 daughters Pamelia Steffenhagen and Penny Mosher.
A church service will be held on Thursday December 31, 2020, at 11:30 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Durham, N.C. There will be a live stream video of the service:
