Evelyn Pickett Mccullen

Evelyn Pickett McCullen, age 82, died Tuesday morning at Britthaven of Chapel Hill. Mrs. McCullen was born in Chapel Hill to the late Ellie Satterfield and Weston Paul Pickett, Sr. She was a longtime member of Watts St. Baptist Church. Mrs. McCullen is survived by her daughter, Judith M. Rhew of Chapel Hill, NC; one grandson, R. Lance Rhew, Jr. and wife Sara of Davidson, NC; three great grandchildreneelizabeth, Emily and Kathryn; and two brothers, Dan Carter Pickett of Greensboro; and Ray Terry Pickett of Durham;. She was preceded ineeath by her husband, Alpheus A. McCullen and her brother, Weston Paul Pickett, Jr. Graveside services will be held 11 AM Friday in Maplewood Cemetery, Section 17. The Reverend David Woodhouse will officiate. The family will receive friends at the graveside following the service and other times at the home of her daughter, Judy, who resides at 1247 Cranebridge Place in Chapel Hill. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Britthaven of Chapel Hill Patient Activities Fund, 1716 Legion Road, Chapel Hill, NC 27517 or to Dental Foundation of NC Special Care Clinic, Campus P.O. Box 7450, Chapel Hill, NC 27599-7450. Arrangements are under the care of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service in Durham.
