Eunee A. Varner

Eunee A. Varner, native and long time resident of Asheville, went Home to be with the Lord on October 31, 2010 at the Care Home of the Pittsboro Christian Village following a lengthy illness. She was 86 years of age. Miss Varner graduated from Lee Edwards High School in 1941. She retired from the Veterans Administration Hospital in Oteen in 1980 where she served as an administrative aide in the Rehabilitation Unit. Following her retirement she did voluneer work for the Land-of-Sky Regional Council where she was honeed on a number of occasions for her dedication and the excellence of her work, as Voluneer of the Year. Miss Varner was a life time member of the Ashville Gospel Chapel where she served in neerous capacities including Sunday School teaching and leadership of the AWANA program. Miss Varner was preceded ineeath by her father and mother, and two sisters. She is survived by her brother and sister in law, J. Harry aneelizabeth Varner of Alpharetta, GA; two nieces; two nephews; and several grand nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at Sky View Memorial Park in Asheville at 1:00 pm Saturday, neember 6, 2010.
