Elsie Spencer Ballou

Elsie Spencer Ballou, 88, of Morehead City, NC died Wednesday, June 28, 2011 at Carteret General Hospital. Born in South Boston, VA, December 20, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Melvin Spencer and Grace Finch Spencer. Elsie was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Rocky Mount. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Cook and husband, Robbie of Swansboro; son, Tim Ballou and wife, Leigh of Durham; grandchildren, Lynn Williamson, Joey and Jimmy Boone, Katie Ballou and Mimi Ballou; great grandchildren, Cameron, Jolee, Chloe Boone. Elsie was preceded ineeath by her husband, Wesley Owen Ballou, Sr. and her son, Wesley Owen Ballou, Jr. Graveside services will be held 11:00AM Friday, July 1, 2011 at Pineview Cemetery, Rocky Mt. The Rev. Bill Grisham will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 200 S. Church St., Rocky Mount, NC 27804 or the charity of one's choice.
