Elmore Dabney Gooch, Jr.

OXFORD: Mr. Elmore Dabney Gooch, Jr. age 79, died Saturday, August 3, 2013. A native of Granville County, he was the son of the late Nola Jones aneelmore Dabney Gooch, Sr. Elmore was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and a tobacco farmer. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church by Reverend Keith Williams. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service. Surviving is his wife of 59 years, Mary Oakes Gooch; his sons, Elmore D. Gooch, III of Oxford and Chris N. Gooch Kim of Oak Island; grandchildren, Conner Gooch, Lauren Gooch, and Kasey Gooch. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Mt.
