Eleanor Louise Cheneeth

Eleanor Louise Cheneeth, age 82, resident of 1114 Donphil Road, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, January 26, 2010. Born in Elkins, WV, Eleanor was the daughter of the late Blair Silas McQuain and Gladys Brock McQuain. She was a graduate of Davis Elkins College. Eleanor and her family moved to Durham in 1967. She retired from CCB after many years in the Audit Department. Eleanor loved to square dance and she delighted in caring for family and friends. She was a devoted wife and mother who always put her family first. Eleanor was a member of the First Baptist Church and active in the Joy Sunday school class. She is survived by one son, Greg Cheneeth and his wife Carol who reside in Garner; two daughters, Cindy Cheneeth who resides Durham and Jenneer Hawthorne and her husband Tom who reside in Little Rock AR; six grandchildren and three great grandchildreneeleanor was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Bernard Cheneeth and her daughter, Amy Jo Pearce in 1988. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 29, 2010 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Hall-Wynne Funeral Home. The Rev. Dr. Aneew Davis will preside. Burial will follow in Woodlawneemorial Park.
