Edward Ossie Smith, age 72, died peacefully on Friday, September 30, 2022. He was the son of the late Edward Eugene Smith and Mary Helen Younge Smith. Ossie was born in Granville County, NC on October 28, 1949.

Ossie was a strong fixture in the community who was a lifelong resident of Granville County.

Ossie is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Smith Keith and Elizabeth Smith Land (Sheldon) and his grandchildren, Lauren and Madeline Keith and Holden Land. Ossie was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Dale Clark Smith.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Elmwood Cemetery in Oxford, NC and officiated by Reverend Johnny Yount.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his honor to Corinth Fire Department, 3678 Highway 96 S, Oxford, NC 27565 or to Oxford Baptist Church Youth, PO Box 398, Oxford, NC, 27565.
