Edward O. Sanford

Edward O. Sanford, 89, of Bahama, died Friday, June 6, 2014 at Duke Regional Hospital. Borneecember 4, 1924 to the late Marion Polk Sanford and Lucy Oliver Sanford. Ed retired from Duke Power after 31 years of service. He was a member of Mt. Bethel Uneed Methodist Church, the Bahama Ruritan Club, Knap of Reeds Masonic Lodge where he was a 32nd Degree Masoneed was also a founding member of the Bahama Fire Department. He was preceded ineeath by his parents, his wife, Shirley B. Sanford, and a son-in-law, Michael E. Harris. Surviving are: a son, Charles M. Sanford and wife, Nancy of Bahama; a daughter, Debra S. Harris of Durham; a sister Louise Beasley of Durham; grandchildren, Dan Sanford and wife, Cassidy, Jamie Craig and husband, Brian, Lauren Farlow and husband, Jeremy and Mary Harris; great-grandchildren, Oliver and Charlie Sanford; a niece, Kathy Burger and a nephew, Alaneeasley. Graveside services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Bethel Church Cemetery in Bahama. Rev. Bob Bergland will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall of Mt. Bethel UM Church. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ed's memory may be made to Mt.
