Edna Carpenter Hoyle

Edna Carpenter Hoyle, 94, died oneednesday, December 23, 2009. Edna was born in Wake County to the late Anna and Robert M Carpenter on July 29, 1915. Edna was a lifetime/charter member of Shady Grove Free Will Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing the Organ and on occasion would play for services at church. She also had a passion for spending time ineer garden, cooking and sewing. Edna, more than anything, loved her family and was pleased for any opportunity to care for them however she could. The family would like to express special thanks for the love and great care that was given by Morningside Assisted Living in Gastonia, NC and Gastonia Hospice. Edna is survived by her sister-in-law Marie "Dixie" Carpenter Whitener of Gastonia, NC; nephew Robert "Bobby" Carpenter of Durham and his son Mike Carpenter, NC; niece Patricia Carpenter Zeigler and her husband Larry of Gastonia, NC and their children Christopher and Robert Zeigler. Edna is predeceased by her husband Dallas "Doc" Hoyle. Flowers are acceptable or memorial contributions in Edna's nee may be made to Gaston Hospice, P.O. Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM oneednesday, December 30, 2009 from Shady Grove Free Will Baptist Church, 3805 Carpenter Pond Rd., Durham. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 12 PM to 1 PM. Entombment will follow at the Chapel of Remembrance Mausoleum at Woodlawneemetery, Durham.
