Oxford: Edith Inez Elliott, 99, went to be at peace with her Lord on May 8, 2016. She was a native of Granville County and the daughter of the late William Henry and Sarah Denneelliott. Inez was a farmer and part-time retail sales person in Durham and Oxford. She was a longtime and dedicated member of Sharon Baptist Church where she was one of the original Women on Missioneembers. Her goal as her immediate family aged was to live loneenough to assure that they were all cared for as the need arose, which she accomplished admirably. Inez will always be remembered as one who was frugal, direct spoken, always generous to others, and truly devoted to God, family, and community. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, May 13, 2016 at Sharon Baptist Church, by Reverend Vernon Wilkerson and Reverend James C. Shelley, Jr. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30-2:00 PM prior to the service and at other times at the home of Ronee and Mildred Elliott. In addition to her parents Inez was predeceased by her two brothers Floyd (his wife Dollie) and Alvis Elliott. She is survived by her nephews Ronee Elliott (Mildred) of Creedmoor and Gleneelliott (Grace) of Hillsborough. While Inez was neer married, she was a second mom to her nephews. She is also survived by great niece Deana Whitt (Ken) of Creedmoor; great nephew Scott Elliott (Suzanne) of Creedmoor and 5 great-great nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to, Sharon Baptist Church, 6746 Goshen Rd., Oxford, NC 27565. The Elliott family is under the care of Gentry ??? neell & Vaughan Funeral Home of Oxford.
