Earl French Hadden, Ii

Durham, NC – Earl French Hadden II, age 77, died at UNC Medical Center on Wednesday, April 3rd. He was born on June 14, 1946 in Princeton, WV to the late Earl and Doris Hadden.

The family moved to Charlotte, NC when Earl was a teenager. There he graduated from Myers Park High School. He then attended UNC Chapel Hill where he was a member of the Men's Glee Club and the Dialectic and Philanthropic Societies (DiPhi), the oldest student organization of the university. He graduated in 1968 with a degree in Political Science and a lifelong love of Tarheel basketball.

Earl married Frances Schuhsler in November 1970 in Los Angeles, CA. They welcomed two daughters, Elizabeth in 1974 and Amanda in 1977. He worked for IBM and Informatics before opening his own business Pacific Information Management. Earl’s consulting career allowed him to travel internationally and introduce his family to Europe, Canada, and much of the United States. His favorite travel destination was Maui, Hawaii with his family.

Earl and Fran moved back to North Carolina in 2003. Earl shared the knowledge from guiding large multi-national corporations to consult for small business owners in the Triangle area, who he believed are the engine of our economy.

Earl is survived by wife, Fran; daughters Liz Losey (Jeffrey) and Amanda Garland (Tyler), grandson Justin Losey; and sisters Patricia Gunter (John), Katherine "Jill" Hadden and Sally Hadden (Robert Berkhofer). Earl was preceded in death by parents Earl and Doris and sister Margaret “Peggy“ Hadden.

Funeral Mass, internment and reception will be held Thursday April 25th at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Infant Catholic Church, Durham NC.
