Chapel Hill- Dr. Nirmala Mathew Amaldoss, M.D., age 55, of Chapel Hill died June 23, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.?? She was born ineerala, India to Philomena Joseph and the late Dr. Thomas Mathew.?? Nirmala was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Chapel Hill. Dr. Nirmala Amaldoss was an Attending Physician at the Emergency Department of the Durham VA Medical Center and an Assistant Professor of General Internal Medicine at Duke Uneersity. ??In addition to her mother, Nirmala is survived by her husband of 24 years, Wilfred Amaldoss of Chapel Hill; her children, Bernard Amaldoss and Nicole Amaldoss; and her sister, Patricia Thomas. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with Fr. Scott McCue presiding.?? Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2017. Friends may visit Monday, June 26, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, 1113 W.
