Dovie Medlin Sauls

Mrs. Dovie Medlin Sauls, of New Elam Church Road, New Hill, died July 2, 2007 at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro. She was 85. Born October 7, 1921 in Chatham County, she was the daughter of Jasper and Donna Hearneedlin. Mrs. Sauls was a graduate of Bells School, and was a member of New Elam Christian Church. A homemaker, she also worked for a number of years for both Kayser-Roth and Apex Manufacturing. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Savonne and Jimmy Cox, of Bennett; granddaughter, Nicole Sebik and husband Joe, of Charlotte; grandson, James Garrett Stephens of New Hill and his friend Ashley Smith of Charlotte; and Jay Stephens, father of Nicole and James Garrett. The funeral service for Mrs. Sauls will be conducted by Pastor Gary Moore at 11:00 am, Wednesday, July 4, 2007 at New Elam Christian Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 7 - 9 pm Tuesday at Griffin Funeral Service and Cremation in Pittsboro, and at other times at Mrs. Sauls' residence.
