Dorothy Mae Buck Blalock Palmer, 82, peacefully departed this world on August 14, 2015, at home surrounded by her love ones, theneeganeer journey for heaven and was welcomed into the presence of her Savior. She fought a faithful and valiant fight to stay alive and be with the ones she loved so dearly. Ms. Dorothy was a woman of faith and beauty and the heart of the Palmer/Blalock family. Of all the things she accomplished ineer life nothing compared to being with her beloved husband James, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her gift of joy showed through her constant smile, laughter, and zest for life and will neer be forgotten by all who knew her. She loved the holidays and special gatherings with her family. Proverbs 31- Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband praises her also. Mrs. Palmer was born oneeptember 2, 1932 to the late Thomas William and Velera Hamlett Buck in Caswell County, North Carolina. She is preceded ineeath by her first husband Jack H. Blalock. Mrs. Palmer is survived by her husband, James Ray Palmer; a son, Ricky Blalock and his wife Suzie of Apex; two daughters, Brenda Sears and her husband Alan of Apex and Janee Navarro and Todd Pinnex of Fuquay Varena; a stepdaughter Debra Holland and her husband Danna of Garner; a stepson Mark Palmer and his wife JoAnna of Apex; a sister, Dolly Jackson of Roxboro; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 16, 2015 at New Hill Baptist Church in Apex at 1 pm with the funeral service following at 2pm.
