Dorothy Elaine Bowen Moss

Dorothy Elaine Bowen Moss of Croasdaile Retirement Village in Durham, formerly of Chapel Hill, NC died Sunday evening, neember 11, 2007. She was born ineelhaven, NC oneeptember 27, 1913. Dorothy was the daughter of the late William Horace Bowen and Della Estelle Bowen and the youngest of six children. Dorothy married the late Dr. Beverly T. Moss in 1939; they shared love and devotion for many years. Dorothy was devoted to her husband. She was an avid gardener, being an active member of the Chapel Hill Garden Club for many years. She was a member of the Uneersity Presbyterian Church of Chapel Hill. She and Beverly lived in many parts of the Uneed States: California, Oregon, Illinois, and Wisconsin, but she always called North Carolina home. Dorothy received her Master of Arts degree from the Uneersity of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 1940 and was an avid Tar Heel fan. They were both dedicated to education. Dorothy was a librarian who taught in many different schools and grade levels in neerous cities. Dorothy is survived by several nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, neember 17, 2007at Chapel Hill Memorial Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Anna Pinckney Straight of Uneersity Presbyterian Church will preside.
