Dorothy Daniel Lloyd Vick

Dorothy Daniel Lloyd Vick, 99, of Durham died at home on Saturday, October 6, 2012. Mrs. Vick was a longtime resident of Durham, and thoroughly enjoyed cooking, gardening and visits from her many family members and friends. She retired from Liggett Myers in 1976. Mrs. Vick is survived by her sister Gertrude Newman of Chattanooga, TN formerly of Henderson, NC; her brother, Richard Daniel of Rolesville, NC; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded ineeath by her husband of 41 years, George E. Vick, Jr.; her first husband of 16 years, Joe Lloyd; their daughter and only child, Betsy Ann Lloyd Lawrence; and three brothers, Lynwood Daniel, Herman Daniel and John Alford Daniel. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 11, 2012, at St. Paul Uneed Methodist Church with the Reverend Mark D. Stephens presiding. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens in Creedmoor. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. in the church.
