Dorothea Brooks Church

Dorothea Brooks Church, 90, of Pittsboro NC, Amatuer Radio General Class, KA3CVE became a silent key July 15, 2008. She was very active in the communities of Alcoa TN, Pittsburgh PA and Pittsboro NC. She and her husband liked to travel. They visited Canada, Alaska, Hawaii, Bermuda, Turkey, Austria and Central America. She was an avid Bridge player and loved to quilt and knit sweaters for her family. Dorothea was born January 15, 1918 ineewark, Ohio. The daughter of Thomas and Helen Brooks, Dorothea is survived by her husband of 64 years, Herbert E. Church. Also surviving is a son, Martin Church of Huntsville, AL; daughters Lynneerguson and Carol Krawetz of Pittsboro; grandchildren, Michele Frye of Omaha, NE, Benjamin Church and Cathleen Church of Pittsburgh, PA. She was predeceased by daughters Barbara Stockton of Pittsboro and Kimberly Church of Tampa, FL, and a sister, Eleanor Aneews of Newark Ohio. A private service and interment will be held at Woodlawneemetery in Franklin, NC.
