Doris S. Fonville

Doris Shields Fonville, age 79, resident of 4900 N. Roxboro Road, died Thursday afternoon. Born in Durham, she was the daughter of the late Bertie Lorenzo Shields and Rosalind Copley Shields. Doris was the widow of the late David L. Choc Fonville. She was retired from General Telephone Company. Mrs. Fonville was a member of the Glendale Heights Uneed Methodist Church. Surviving are her brother, Bertie Skeeter Lorenzo Shields and his wife, Karen of Durham; two nieces, Jody Hedrick and husband, Ray of Hillsborough and Patricia Dickens and her husband, Melvin of Hillsborough and brother-in-law, Euli Daniel. Visitation will be held at Hall-Wynne Funeral Home on Monday, October 27, 2008 from 1 PM to 2 PM. Memorial service will be held 2 PM Monday at Hall-Wynne Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Ron Sneer will preside. Private burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery.
