Donald Hight Evans, Sr.

FRANKLINTON- Donald Hight Evans, Sr., 82, passed away peacefully Monday, December 26, 2011 at home surrounded by his family. Born March 29, 1929 in Granville County, Donald was the son of the late Arthur L. and Verna Hight Evans. He was a member of Wesley Chapel Uneed Methodist Church and Americaneegion Post # 52. Donald was a US Army veteraneerving in the Korean War. He was involved with building construction his entire life and retired from North Carolina State Uneersity. Donald is survived by his sons, Donald "Doneevans, Jr.; Craig Evans and wife, Norma; granddaughter, Shelby Evans; and sister, Dorothy Harris and husband, Thomas. He was preceded ineeath by his wife of 55 years Dorothy Vaughan Evans. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, December 29, 2011 from the Chapel of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, Franklinton Chapel. Rev. Anita James will officiate and burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation is from 12:30 2:00 PM Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, 504 E. Mason St. in Franklinton.
