DURHAM ??? Dennis Robert Rasmussen, 51, of Durham passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at home surrounded by family. There is a saying that ???That there is power in simple things??? and Dennis was a livineexample to us all of this, whether it was at his work at Duke Uneersity Hospital where he was an MRI Technician, at a Carolina Hurricanes game supporting his favorite team, traveling to far off countries to satisfy his adventurous spirit, jamming out to RUSH or just being at home with his family doing work around the house and yard. He was a singular husband, father, brother and friend who impacted all those around with a simple kineess, quick smile and contagious laugh and it is for all that and more that he will be missed. There is power in simple things and those of us who were fortunee to know Dennis know how a simple act can create a memory that lasts a lifetime. Dennis is survived by his wife of 10 years Stacy Menendez Rasmussen, his son, Alex Menendez of Ft. Myers, FL; his mother, Marilyn Rasmussen; his brother, David Rasmussen; his sisters, Dawn Rasmussen and Debbie Rasmussen, all of Durham. Dennis is also survived by several nieces and his three beloved dogs, Dixie, Dottie, and Billy. He was preceded ineeath by his father, Ernest Rasmussen, and his sister, Diane Rasmussen. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, April 15, 2018 in the Chapel of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service with Carolyn Conners presiding. A solo by Bobbie Young will be performed at the service.
