Mr. David Bynum Clegg, 86, of Beaver Creek Road, Apex, died March 25, 2012 at WakeMed Cary. Mr. Clegg was born neember 23, 1925 in Chatham County, the son of Henry and Flossie Beard Clegg. He was raised in Pittsboro, and served in the US Army during the Korean conflict. Mr. Clegg was a retired automobile service technician, having worked in Pittsboro for many years. Mr. Clegg was a Mason, with membership in Columbus Lodge # 102 in Pittsboro. He and his wife were active square dancers; he was also a leader and member of Ebeneer Uneed Methodist Church. Mr. Clegg loved sports including golf, baseball and Duke basketball. He enjoyed vegetable gardening and sold his remarkable tomatoes from his home. Mr. Clegg is survived by his wife, Juanita Wilson Clegg; daughter, Marlene Clegg of Cary; brother, Lynn "Bo" Clegg of Moncure; sister, Mary Margaret Griffin of Pittsboro; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Mr. Bynum Clegg will be held at 11 o'clock Thursday morning, March 29, 2012 at Ebeneer Uneed Methodist Church, with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Following the service, friends may visit with the family in the church fellowship hall. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home oneednesday afternoon aneevening.
