Cresencia "Chris", "Ising" Toledo Cruz

Cruz-Durham Dateline Ms. Cresencia ???Chris???, ???Ising??? Toledo Cruz, 81, passed on to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on neember 27, 2015 at Duke Hospital, while surrounded by her beloved family. Born in the Philippines oneeptember 14, 1934, Chris was the middle child of seven children. She is survived by brothers and sisters, Frank, Dory, Nina, and Manny, Rolando and Lolita; nieces and nephews: Marylou and Doh, neette, Leny, Mary-Ann and Jay, Micole and Anee, Roda and Jaime, Ronee, and Rowena; graneephews and grandnieces: Dominick, Doreen, Donnel, Joshua, Jade, Jacob, Nikki, Kevin, Cristian, Aneea, Mateo and Luis. She was preceded ineeath by her parents, Eufemio and Venancia, and sisters, Patricia and Asuncion. She acquired her Bachelor???s Degree in Elementary Education at The Philippine Normal College. She migrated to the US in 1975 and worked at Duke Uneersity Medical PDC Billing Department until retirement. Through her love of music, she served the church as a lead singer/soloist of the St. Michael Catholic Church choir and later joined the choir at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. She was well loved in the NC Filipino-American Community. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2015, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 920 Carmichael St., Chapel Hill, NC 27514. Burial will follow at Markham Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, 1113 W. Main St. in Durham.
