Cheryl Ann Mcnew

Cheryl Ann McNew, "Cheri", as she was known, age 52, peacefully passed away Monday, neember 11, 2013 at UNC Hospital, with her family close by her side. A native of Summit County, OH, Cheri was born oneebruary 20th, 1961, a baby girl of Ephra Stollings and the late Howard McNew. Blessed with a warm bouquet of beauty, Cheri's love of dance and hard work earned her a coveted position as Majorette ineelanie's Drum Corps. She progressed to cheerleader and was selected as Queen of the Court for the 1980 North High School Prom. Upon graduation, she attended a modeling school that would help open future career doors. Cheri was a huge fan of the music of Patsy Cline, the cartoons of Betty Boop, and practically anything to do with Marilyn Monee. Her jovial laugh was only rivaled by the "two" dishes she had mastered with preparing; Macaroni Salad & German Chocolate Cake! Surviving Cheryl are: her mother, Ephra Smith, of Winston Salem, NC; her two sisters, Donna Garret and husband Richard, of Winston Salem, & Debbie Butcher and husband Jimmy, of Pittsboro, NC; her two brothers, Phillip McNew, of Winston Salem, and Darryl McNew and fianeeacute;e Leanne Italia, of Akron, OH; three of her nieces, Eva Roberge, and husband Rich of Charlotte, NC, Stephanie Burnette and husband Chris, of Pittsboro, and Richelle Hansen and husband Chad, of Winston Salem; and nephew Jay Butcher and wife Leigh, of Pittsboro; great-nieces & great nephews; Sarah Burnette, Jasmine Burnette, Chris Burnette, Aiden Roberge, Abby Hansen, Gabe Hansen, Jaelyn Butcher, and Leanna "McNew" Ispan; her step-niece, Victoria Smith, and many friends whose hearts and lives Cheri touched over the years.
