Charles Howard Riggan

Charles Howard Riggan, age 72, of Oxford, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2023. Charles was affectionally known as “Strawberry” to many. Born in Mecklenburg County, Virginia, Strawberry was the son of the late Donald Bruce Riggan and Margaret Amelia Mitterer Riggan

Strawberry was a hardworking and honest man. He was the owner and operator of Riggan Trucking.

Strawberry is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Glenda Pegram Riggan; his son, Spencer Glen Riggan (Stacey) and his grandson, Sawyer. He also leaves behind his sister, Teresa Jaynes. He will be deeply missed by his loving extended family and friends too numerous to name.

Strawberry was predeceased by his parents and his brothers, James Riggan, John Riggan and Michael Riggan.

The Riggan family appreciates any donations in honor of Strawberry to be given to the Shriners Hospital or to the Duke Cancer Center. Flowers are welcomed and appreciated.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 31, 2023, at 2:00 pm, at Hester Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Hensley officiating.
