Catherine Gattis Lockamy

Catherine Gattis Lockamy, age 82, passed away Tuesday April 24th ineew Bern. Born in Chatham County she was a previous long-term resident of Durham; retired from Goldeneelt Manufacturing Company and a long-time member of Lakewood Methodist Church. She had moved to New Bern in 1983 to be close to her daughter and grandchildren after the death of her husband, James C. Lockamy. In addition to her husband, she was preceded ineeath by 3 brothers and 9 sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Lockamy Merchant; her son-in-law, Ted Merchant; two grandchildren, Ted Hughes Merchant Jr. and Robineerchant Chiles, all of New Bern and two great grandchildren, Trace and Saylor. Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, April 27th, in Maplewood Cemetery, Section 6. Pastor G. Barry Chambers will preside. Friends may visit Thursday evening, April 26th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, 1113 W. Main St. in Durham.
