Carolyn Carroll Distasio

Mrs. Carolyn Carroll Distasio, wife of Richard Distasio, Sr. died July 17, 2007 ineer home on Evergreen Drive in Pittsboro. She was 63. Carolyn was born in Wise County, VA oneeptember 19, 1943, the daughter of MJ Carroll and Nadine Thompson Carroll. She worked as a prodcut buyer for both Kmart and Strowd's Jewelers for a number of years, and had also been employed at Traveler's / UneedHealthcare. Mrs. Distasio retired as the head of secretarial services for St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Chapel Hill. Surviving are her husband, Richard; a son, Richard Distasio, Jr. of PA; two daughters, Gina Beau and Nadine Distasio, both of Pittsboro; 5 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and an unee, Richard Thompson of Ohio. A memorial mass will be celebrated by Fr. Alex Gonzalez at 1:00 pm, Friday, July 20, 2007 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Chapel Hill. Interment will follow at a later date. Friends may visit with the family following the service, and may also call at the residence in Pittsboro. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society, 8300 Health Park, Suite 10, Raleigh, NC 27615. Arrangements are under the care of Griffin Funeral Service and Cremation of Pittsboro.
