Carol Faye Scott

Carol F. Scott , age 75, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2021 with family by her side at her sister’s home in Chapel Hill, NC. She was born in Steubenville, OH to the loving parents of Charles and Ruth Himes. She graduated in the class of 1964 from Jefferson Union High School and married Robert Scott of Waynesburg, PA in 1986. The couple lived in Toronto, OH and her husband died in 1990. She was a member of Sycamore Methodist Church in Steubenville. She shared a love of horses with stepfather, James McClain who preceded her in death May, 2012. She worked for Heritage Home Care in Toronto, OH for twenty years. She is survived by her sister, Ruth Shrieve; nieces, Sherry Crane (Harry) of Arden, NC and Denise Shortino (Dave) of Durham, NC; nephews, Keith Shrieve of Akron, OH and David Shrieve of Durham, NC; three great nephews, Edward Crane, Scott Shortino and Jarrod Shrieve; and two great nieces, Stephanie Shortino and Kayla Shrieve.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to UNC Hospice in memory of Carol Scott. Please mail donations to: UNC Health Foundation of NC, P.O. Box 1050, Chapel Hill, NC 27514-1050 and include “hospice” and her name in the memo.

An interment ceremony for family and friends will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at FORT STEUBEN BURIAL ESTATES in Wintersville, OH.
