Brenda Williams Stewart

DURHAM - Brenda Williams Stewart, 53, of Durham, North Carolina, died on April 4, 2018 after a lengthy illness. Ms. Stewart was born in Tachikawa, Japan and was the only child of Kazuko Williams (nee Akatsuko) and the late Johnee Williams.?? She was raised in Hampton, Virginia and graduated from Kecoughtan High School in 1982.?? She was a 1986 graduate of the College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, Virginia.?? After graduating, she worked at the Virginia Employment Commission, the Georgia Department of Labor, and the Uneed States Department of State.?? In 2017, Ms. Stewart retired from the Uneed States Citizenship and Immigrationeervices at the Department of Homeland Security. In addition to her mother, she is survived by daughter, Evian Villegas (Selma, North Carolina); son, Nico Villegas (Chesapeake, Virginia); stepdaughter Jenneer Villegas Rivera (White Plains, New York); and beloved granddaughters Gabriella and Aveline.?? She is also remembered with love by former spouses Michael Villegas (Chesapeake, Virginia) and David Stewart (Atlanta, Georgia).
