Beula Odessa Nelson, age 94, died Saturday in Croasdaile Village. Born in Oklahoma City, OK, she was the daughter of the late D.E. and Shirla Smith Williams. Mrs. Nelson moved to Durham in 1997. She was as a person that loved to voluneer. She was a Girl Scout leader for many years and she crocheted baby caps for hospitalized infants and lap blankets to give away. She will be remembered for her generosity to others and as a loving mother and grandmother. Surviving are a daughter, Louise Dorton of Oxford; a son, Ramon C. "Jesse" Blatt and wife, Catherine Moran both of Silver Springs, MD; a twin sister, Bertha Gordon of Denver, CO; a special friend, E. D. Wineead of Durham ; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held 11AM Tuesday in the Few Chapel at Croasdaile Village. The Rev. Milton Hadley will preside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Westside Baptist Church, 304 S. Seneca Street, Wichita, KS, 67213 Arrangements are with Hall-Wynne Funeral Services.
