Bernie Cheneeth

Bernard "Bernie" Dice Cheneeth, age 83, resident of 1114 Donphil Road, entered into enternal rest Wednesday, August 19, 2009. Born in Elkins, WV, Bernie was the son of the late Roy Perry Cheneeth aneelva Doerr Cheneeth. He was a graduate of Davis Elkins College with a degree in engineering. He served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Bernie was a member of the First Baptist Church, Durham, NC. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Eleanor McQuain Cheneeth; one son, Bernard Gregory Cheneeth and wife, Carol of Garner; two daughters, Cindy Cheneeth of Durham and Jenneer Hawthorne and husband, Tom of Little Rock AR; three sisters, Eleanor Fletcher, Rosalee Martin both of Elkins, WV aneerma Shelton of Arizona; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Bernie was predeceased by his daughter, Amy Jo Pearce in 1988. Visitation will be held from 12 Noon to 2 PM Saturday in Hall-Wynne Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Hall-Wynne Funeral Home. The Rev. Dr. Aneew Davis will preside.
