Berit Veum

Berit Veum, 81 of Durham, North Carolina died at home Thursday, January 26, 2012. Berit was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina on neember 9, 1930 to the late Greta Holmberg and Alf Veum. Berit moved to the Uneed States in 1958, living in Boston and vicinity prior to moving to Durham. Survivors are sister Anita nees and her husband Francis nees of East Hartford, CT. Also a nephew James nees and his wife Jenni of Utica, New York, her niece Margaret Essex and her husband Paul of Fairfield, CT, her niece Kathleen Knecht and her husband John of Storrs, CT, her niece Patricia Jones and her husband Dennis of Pamplin, VA, her nephew William nees and his wife Natalie of Granby, CT, and her niece Mary Ellen Franciscus and her husband Peter of St. Louis, Mo. A memorial service will be offered 2:00pm Sunday, February 19, 2012 at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service Chapel, 1113 West Main Street, Durham, NC 27701. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions ineerit's nee may be made to the Food for the Poor, Inc. at 6401 Lyons Rd., Coconut Creek, FL 33097 or Oxfam America at PO Box 7011, Albert Lea, MN 56007.
