Barbara Kane Callaghan

Barbara Kane Callaghan, age 53 and resident of 313 Dunhill Drive, died Sunday afternoon in Duke Medical Center. A native of White Plains, NY, Barbara was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter LaSalle Kane. She was preceded ineeath by her husband, Michael Alan Callaghan and is survived by two daughters, Heather Kane Callaghan of Holly Springs, NC and Lauren Kane Callaghan of Durham, NC; one sister, Mary Ellen Goodwin and husband Dean of Rock Hill, SC. Although born in NY, she was reared in Pompano Beach, FL. She graduated from Cardinal Gibbons High School, Ft. Lauderdale, FL and attended Florida State Uneersity, Tallahassee, FL. After living abroad in Ulsan, South Korea, the family moved to Durham in 1987 where she was employed by Glaxo Smith Kline. Barbara was surrounded by the people she dearly loved and cherished, her family, especially her sister-in-law and friend Kareneevinson, her life long friend, Mary Mantey along with many cousins. She loved the ocean and gardening, however, her greatest joy in life was being Mom to her two daughters Heather and Lauren, whom she adored. A Mass of Christianeesurrection will be celebrated 9 AM Wednesday morning at Holy Infant Catholic Church. Fr. John McGhee will preside. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at Hall-Wynne Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Barbara
