Aylease Adcock Stem, 89, of Oxford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 8, 2016. A native of Granville County, daughter of the late David Warren and Bessie Hobgood Adcock and widow of Eugene E. Stem. Aylease Adcock Stem was a member of the Enon Baptist Church and a retired employee of John Umstead Hospital. Surviving are her daughter, Dianne Stem of Oxford, North Carolina and her sons, Edwin Stem of Charlotte, North Carolina and David Stem of New Bern, North Carolina. She is also survived by her sister, Ann Boyd of Fort Mills, South Carolina; 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held between 10:00 am and 11:00 am at Enon Baptist Church on May 10, 2016. Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am, Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Enon Baptist Church by Reverend Steve Brown and Reverend James Shelly, Jr. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to the Enon Baptist Church Cemetery Fund care of Buck Hobgood, 2115 Tommie Daniel road, Oxford, NC 27565. Arrangements for the Stem family are being handled by Gentry Newell & Vaughan Funeral Home of Oxford. Online condolences may be made at gentrynewell.wpengine.com.
