Anne Therese Timlin

Anne Therese Timlin, 98, of Durham, NC, and Naples, FL, died Saturday, July 13, 2024 with her daughters Katy and Susan at her side. Anne was born on March 11, 1926 to Philip and Anne Deery O’Connor in Warren, Ohio

Anne is survived by: her daughters Margaret (Michael) Majsak of Livonia, MI, Molly (Jerry) Tritt of Cherry Hill, NJ, Katy (Chris) Shaw of Durham, Patty (Ken)Jasper of Fort Mill, SC, and Susan (Rufus) Reynolds of Durham; 12 grandchildren Thomas (Sara), Danny, and Polly Jasper, Marisa, Christopher, and Ryan (Anastasia) Majsak, Megan, Kristen, and Connor Shaw, Brendan, Kevin, and Colleen Tritt; great-grandchildren Perry and Anne Jasper and Josephine Majsak; brother Paul (Mary) O’Connor of Naples, FL; and dear caregiver Janis Watkins, Carrboro, NC.

Anne’s husband of 57 years Thomas died in 2012 and her daughter Sally Anne died on Feb. 21, 2024

In 1954, Anne and Tom started their married life in Youngstown, Ohio, then moving to Bethel Park, PA where they lived for 40 years. They enjoyed their later years in Durham and Naples.

A 1946 graduate of St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing, Youngstown, Ohio, Anne worked in the hospital and then for a private pediatrician practice until she married. Although her working career was brief, Anne’s nursing vocation was lifelong. Family and friends sought her sound advice for first-aid and easy-to-understand healthcare explanations.

Anne’s life centered around her faith and family. She thoroughly enjoyed gatherings of family, bridge club, church knitters, Turtle Lake friends, and cross-stitch group.

On Friday, July 19, the family will hold a visitation at noon and a Mass of Christian burial, 1 pm, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Matthew Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Sally Anne Timlin RN MSN Memorial Perinatal Fund. It was established by Sally’s University of North Carolina coworkers to honor her longtime commitment to perinatal patients and perinatal research.
