Andrew “Andy” M. Finch, 75, of Oxford, NC, passed away April 22, 2022, at Granville Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born August 27, 1946, in Oxford, NC, son of the late Willie W. Finch and Ruth Blanks Finch.
Andy worked as a Truck Driver for Waste Industries for many years. He was a member of West Oxford Baptist Church, where he faithfully served as head usher and took great honor in that responsibility. His favorite past time was watching professional wrestling and attending the matches. His nieces and nephews brought immeasurable joy and pride to his life and when given the opportunity he utilized his “bragging” rights.
Surviving are his sister-in-law, Mrs. William (Betty) D. Finch of Oxford, NC; his niece, Angela Finch Sutton of Greensboro, NC; nephew, Adam E. Finch; nephew, Blake (Nicole) Turner and son, Asher; nephew, Logan (Christa) Turner and daughter, Timbrey; nephew, Joshua (Shellie) Finch; nephew, Jacob Finch and son, Caleb; niece, Hanna (Malik) Finch Watson and daughter, Kaomi; nephew, Dylan Lawson, and his special cousin, Carolyn Moss.
Andrew was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, William E. Finch, J. W. Finch, Thomas Finch, Sarah Finch Addison, and Gladys Finch Valentine.
A private graveside service will be held at Meadowview Memorial Park with the Reverend Dr. Bruce Beck officiating.
