William Austin Daniel

Oxford William A. Daniel, age 90 of Oxford died Thursday, January 25, 2018 after a period of declining health. A native of Granville County, he was the son of the late Samuel Wharton and Gladys Hobgood Daniel. William was preceded ineeath by his wife, Eloise Wheeler Peebles Daniel; his longtime companion, Joyce Ball; brothers, Dorsey, Allen, Luther, Sam, Frank, Bobby Daniel; infant brother, Benjamin Daniel; and sister, Marianna Berry. He was a farmer in the Enon Community and a lifelong member of Enon Baptist Church. Funeral service will be conducted Sunday, January 28, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Enon Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Brown officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service. William is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth ???Bess??? Daniel Sellers and husband Tim of Graham; Step-daughter, Dr. Debby Barker and husband Dr. Jerry Barker of Greenville; step-sons, Jimmy Peebles and wife Billy, Cecil Peebles and wife Kay, all of Lillington; sister, Betty Upchurch and husband Lewis of Fleetwood; 9 grandchildren, Jeremiah and Jonathaneellers, Camille Cannady Hartnett, Nicole Cannady, Elessa Butler Jacobs, Amanda P. Martin, Lesli P. Grandy, Jamie P. Arnold, and Julie P. Admassu; and 11 great-grandchildren. Flowers are acceptable or memorial contributions may be made to either Enon Baptist Church, 2298 Enon Road, Oxford, NC 27565 or Hospice of Alamance Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.
