Martha A. Casey, 86, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2022 at home in Durham, NC. She was born on March 15, 1935 to the late Carl Faehnle and Agnes Faehnle in Columbus, OH.
Martha moved to North Canton, OH with her husband Thomas Casey and children in 1962. She lived in North Canton for 53 years before relocating to North Carolina to be near her daughter and son-in-law. She was employed by the City News Agency in Canton, OH and managed several convenience stores until her retirement. She worked long days to keep her family going, often working two jobs. In her early adulthood she enjoyed bowling and swimming. Later, she relished long nights of card games, particularly Bridge and Euchre, and rarely missed an opportunity to tackle the daily crossword puzzle. In North Carolina, she became known for her fabulous potato salad and displayed her kindness by always making extra to share with friends.
Martha Casey is survived by sons Michael Casey (Malke and grandaughter Isobel) and John Casey and daughter Karen Casey (Arlen Custer). She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Carl Faehnle, Dave Faehnle, Don Faehnle, Gene Faehnle, and Tom Faehnle; sisters Jeanette Whitmer, Barbara deRoche, and Marilyn Taylor.
The Casey family is under the care of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service. Online condolences: www.hallwynne.com - select obituaries.
